Any suggestions? Looking for a zero turn with probably 60" or 72" deck

I just bought a Bad boy Magnum in 48". For the 3500-4000 range it seemed to be the best built. Once you stepped up to the next lines that run about $5k the brand's seemed to even out. I liked the Exmark on that range.
60inch would be the max at that level I believe. With the true pro quality mowers being the larger decks. I didn't look at those.

Scag
My buddy just slung a rod on a Kawasaki engine on his two year old Scag. He had done all the maintenance I know because he is anal about maintaining his stuff

For under $4,000, what brand would you buy for a 48” or 60 inch deck?

There are a few options.
Kohler or Kw engine not going to be a big deal at this price point.
You want to make sure you get an hyro gear ZT series transmission over a EZT transmission.
You also want spindles that are steel not aluminum.
Alot of companies will put lipstick on a pig.
Some things in your advantage is June the mfg's let the dealers come off the suggested retail price.
You have some great choices.
I sold alot of cub cadets as a former dealer owner in the z force series.
Sell between $3,699 to $3,999.
It is a step up, has steel spindles, ZT transmission, deck ergonomically designed for both quality and field cut. I prefer the Kohler engine due to price and engines at this price point Kw or KH is not going to make a difference.
I do not recommend doing this with any mower unless it is a bush hog.

Gravely makes a decent machine also and sold a good bit of those.
These I believe have the ZT transmission and decent machine also.
Gravely ZT-XL is a good zero turn the pricing typically higher than the cub at the dealer level depending on how the dealer buys. At this time of the year when they need to get rid of floor plans you might find one under $4,000.
The biggest thing is buy them from a dealer you feel comfortable with and will work with you not pushing you back behind bigger clients.

Bought a Bad Boy with the 60" cut new that cost me $4500 out the door last summer. Got it out of Woodville MS. Best price around. They run ads on Craigslist.
