I didnt Answer your question, but we didn’t need 6 DL if it meant we couldn’t take Goodrich.
Funny how we took 6 DL for 3 DL spots in our 3-4 defense, yet didn't take one CB for the 2 spots with it being know two starters left early from that team.
This is the type of stupidity that prevents teams from actually being worth a damn, yet people ignore that.
You can't neglect a position one year, then over-sign it the next year with a clear issue of depth at another position present. You make things even worse because now you have a ton of youth that is going to be needed to play immediately and no time to develop.
That is a recipe for failure, but hey, "He promised to bring in tons of guys for the trenches" and that is all that matters. This is why O will be a failure at LSU. He has no foresight and is purely reactive. The top coaches are usually proactive and don't do this.
So we oversigned WR, DL, OL, but then ignore a weak spot at RB for 2 seasons with wasting time, ignored DBs (predominantly CB) relying on one player there, and QB is again potentially an issue if one of Brennan or Narcisse leaves.
This is why many of us have no faith in O, and why bandaids like this kid or the kicker hurt even more. not because they aren't potentially good talents, but because you just wasted two 4 year scholarships for two 1-year players, one of which was mediocre at a lower quality football team (in terms of defense).
