As late as 1852-1858, there are reports of Inuit claiming to have seen Crozier and another man in the area. For perspective, the ships were abandoned in 1848. Still lots of fodder for the series to be extended.

It was billed as an anthology series - so season 2 would have a separate storyline. Hopefully (if the series is continued) they keep doing period pieces on European explorations that went wrong/missing.
