Yea gonna just get on a stronger antibiotic
Worst thing you could do. All you’re doing is increasing your resistance to those antibiotics since you don’t need them and they won’t help.
But you’ll probably get some provider to give you something, you’ll take them, you’ll start feeling better in a few days because the virus has finally “ran it’s course”, and then you’ll swear that it was the antibiotics that did it for you and then that’s the antibiotics you’ll want the next time you get a cold. A cold caused by a virus. It’s a vicious cycle that I’ve seen and heard 100s of times.
Upper respiratory bacterial infections in a healthy, non-smoker that NEED antibiotics:
-pneumonia
-strep throat
-a true bacterial sinus infection (has to have been ongoing at least 7 days, and/or had previously gotten better and then worse again, and/or facial pain that extends into the upper teeth). Accounts for ~2% of all sinus infections and over half of those will resolve spontaneously without antibiotics.
But what the hell do I know, I’m an NP and according to a lot of people on TD I don’t know jack shite.

For something that accounts for 2% of all sinus infections, I sure get them a lot. In the last 6 months I've had it twice. Over a week with comedic levels of mucous coming out of my face. Claritin D, Mucinex, Zyrtec D.....nothing over the counter works. Go to Doctor who first time tried the "let's see in case it's not bacterial" approach. Come back 4 days later worse than before. Steroid pack and antibiotic and I'm completely cleared up in 3 days (finish antibiotics though). Second time, straight to steroid pack and antibiotic and gone again just as quickly.

First time I was in the lap pool and did my first flip turn. Which puts me only about 2.5' deep in the water. I thought my face was going to explode from the pressure.
