If I use plex pass with the Live DVR feature and an HDHomerun Quatro, can it save to a NAS or my laptop's HD? I guess it has to since the HDHomerun Quatro only has a power plug, ethernet input and a coax input.

Curious as to how it saves to a NAS? Is it in the settings?
The HDHomerun picks up the OTA signals and kind of rebroadcasts them over your network. In order to record, you need more equipment and software, like Plex.

Generally, setting up Plex involves pointing it at the locations where you store your media. These locations can be the server's own hard drive, a NAS, etc. For example, you might set your Plex 'TV Shows' library to point at a particular folder on your NAS.

When setting up Plex DVR, it should auto-detect your HDHomerun, and any recordings you set should just save to your 'TV Shows' library.

Yea, I tried with a Hauppage TV Tuner and it recognized it but I don't have the correct model to do OTA tv to Plex. That being said, if I can record OTA TV to my Laptop's HD then it's 1 less expense if I don't have to buy a NAS.

I guess, in essense, my laptop's HD becomes a NAS, in a way... Just hope it would work as easy as I think it would, in my head.

ETA: Does the HDHomerun re-broadcast in full HD or does it really limit the signal down to 720p?
