Hate to tell you but Wednesdsy is the worst of the 3 practice round days. Tuesdsy is the best. Pretty much everyone is out there that day. My first trip was a Wednesday. The course closes at Noon for prep and for the Par 3 tournament. So, if you want to see the course, you better get there when gates open and walk it 1 - 18 pretty quickly. Then, try to watch at some of the holes. By then, the Par 3 course will be packed so you likely won’t be able to get in there. May have some luck at range or putting greens, but they have limited/ controlled access to these too.
Still a great trip. I go every 3 or 4 years. And, it never gets old. Walking out to #1 fairway by the big leaderboard will give you goosebumps

I would say Tuesday is the best day, even though I have mainly been on Mondays to not miss so much work.
Monday you see a lot of older players who still play since they have lifetime invite for winning and a bunch of foreigners. Many players just finished in Houston and may not show up until later in the afternoon.
By Tuesday, everyone is there and playing. Good to hear them interact with each other and you see some unique pairings (Seve, Jose Marie, and Sergio years ago).
Wednesday is a rush to get around course before they close it or you can go camp out at Par 3 and wait.
It is an experience. Take a good camera. Hit merch shop at end so you aren’t lugging gear around all day. Line is long snd it is crowded in there. But, like everything else, they have it down to a science. Don’t worry, they have plenty of merch for the entire week

Just FYI it is 60% chance of rain on Wednesday with expected thunderstorms. They may have to close the course all day

About the only thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention is to get your free picture tavken in front of the clubhouse. We hit the merchandise shop early, checked our stuff, then went and got our group photo taken before the line got long. Can’t wait until I hopefully get to go back.

the rain will be coming in at 8am when the gates open, but the afternoon should be clear for the par3 at least
eta: shout out to jim jeffries at the WFXG weather team. every where else is projecting thunderstorms, but he just has rain. At lunch today i am going to visit nearby church and repent my many sins in hopes for good weather.
