The old site of Stagg Field at the University of Chicago is kind of indirectly haunted since it gave birth to the nuclear age.
Members of the Manhattan Project built the world's first nuclear reactor, subsequently creating the first man-made chain reaction under the West Stand.
The site today...
An interesting side note is that Big Bertha, the giant bass drum that belonged to the marching band, was stored next to the reactor and became contaminated with radiation. Texas took it off Chicago's hands for a dollar, cleaned it and restored it.
