Jamie Dixon leaving played the biggest part, but I think moving to the ACC hurts Pitt's regional recruiting. In the Big East, they could sell kids on playing against other kids from all over the Northeast.

not sure how that outweighs playing in the best basketball conference there is... top-ish basketball programs like Pitt was don't regionally recruit
