This is exactly right. Yes Eric you have the freedom to speak. The problem is these owners also have the same right to drive your price down. The fans that bring money to those owners don't agree with you and so their hands are tied.
Here's the truth of it though Eric. If you and Kap would have just said ok these fans don't agree with us at this time so we can reorganize, take our money and go on radio, CNN, MSNBC, even Fox would have taken them. Then go speak at events, get as many people on your side as possible, and you may have found unbelievable support for that.
The way you guys did it was controversial from the start and you CAN'T fight that machine. That is the definition of bad politics, and you were caught on the wrong end. The best thing to do would to just forget about it, apologize to the fans, let them know that your view hasn't changed but you understand that it doesn't belong in the sport so many love.
You would get respect for that and then someone would pick you back up at a decent price.
