Both those programs have had solid classes, but Cal is bringing in top 5 classes every single year each of the 9 years he's been at Kentucky, and has one championship. Yes, he does have 3 other final fours, but also has an NIT first round bounce, and second round, elite 8, and sweet 16 exits the last couple years. Not terrible, but way below expectations.

All that being said, Self may take the cake on this.

self has the 4th best win percentage of any current coach in the ncaa tournament. the 3 ahead of him are the 3 you would expect provided you aren't an izzo disciple. the fact is, the best coaches that get the best players all do the best in the ncaa tournament as well. for some reason, no one really understands that and always wants to insinuate that guys aren't doing enough with their talent. that's not true. they are. the same guys that are dominating regular seasons and dominating recruiting are dominating the tournament.

however, yes, i suppose self takes the cake, but only because he's 4th out of the best 4.
