Still. A guy who brought a large amount of knowledge about our universe to the public rather than encouraging discovery and innovation decides to go on a rant about politics.

To be fair, it wasn't a "rant"...it was a thought piece on what happens if AI and robots can do EVERYTHING?


Wealth is created...but, jobs are not needed (at least, not MOST jobs).

The thought piece is "what happens then?".

It is not a condemnation of capitalism...it is a call to think about a future where "work" may not be needed as it is today.


If we were a small island nation and "oil" is found in massive amounts. Perhaps every citizen could get a stipend of tremendous amounts of money and all labor could be hired from outsiders. That kind of thing.

It was the last answer to an AMA where he received the questions beforehand. He talked about all sorts of stuff in the AMA. LINK
