I’m holding out hope that Pompeo will do a better job than Tillerson. Even though Pompeo is a bit of a hack and Tillerson did show some independence during his tenure, Tillerson was just not a very good SoS. And I think that’s being generous to Tillerson.

I don't know anything about his replacement...but getting rid of a State Department head who essentially maintained the Hillary Status quo is a huge win. Perhaps now we can help the Kurds and give Erdogan the swift kick in the teeth he deserves.

Robert M. Lightfoot Jr.(retiring without a successor)
Not exactly a slow news day.
Edits:
Add Tony Tooke, head of the US Forest Service who quit because of sexual harassment allegations. That was about a week ago, but news is seeping out today. Dr. David Shulkin, head of Veterans affairs is also apparently on the way out.

Obviously, Putin ordered Trump to order Tillerson to pretend to be harsh on Russia so that Putin could order Trump to fire him to divert attention from how he hadn't been harsh on Russia and then appoint Putin's real puppet Pompeo, or something.
