FIVE frickING YEARS. Five years to do 1.53 miles. Now, let's look at that.
Five years is 1,825 days. Now, we operate on a five day work week, so let's assume that work will only be done for 5/7 of those days. That leaves us with about 1,304 work days in those five years. This is construction, so let's assume that (VERY GENEROUSLY) the environment means they won't be able to work half of the available days. That leaves them with 652 days. Now, they're only doing 1.53 miles. That's 8,078.4 feet and they have 652 days to do it.
Even with all of that allowance, to complete the project they need to work at the blistering pace of... 12.4 feet of road per day.
What a fricking clown show.
