In his podcasts about the Celtic genocide, Carlin talks about an instance in which Caesar had a Gallic tribe voluntarily disarm and submit to Roman rule. The result was that the Germanic tribes to the north, who had not disarmed, went nuts on the Gallic tribe as soon as the Romans turned their attention to something else.
