Because until recently, tipping on food and not alcohol was proper etiquette and "the standard"

So if it's no longer the standard, why do you cling to it? not only that, but why so adamantly? That's what I find so funny about cheap people. It's not necessarily that they're cheap, it's that they proudly wallow in being so.
