Got around to watching this film last night and holy shite, it's incredible.

I understand why Gary Goldman won Best Actor.

Reviews of the film suggest it's quite historically accurate (aside from the Underground tube scene)

Prior to the film, I had no idea just how tense Churchhill's first 5-8 weeks as PM were.

It was good but I don't know if it was worthy of the best picture nomination. I think Blade Runner 2049 and The Big Sick were better movies.

It's worth watching for Gary Oldman's performance and because Winston Churchill is such an interesting historical figure, and it's nice to have a movie to pair with Dunkirk this year about the other side of the story. That said I think the movie was a bit boring and cheesy at times.

No. I can understand why some might not have the patience for Darkest Hour, but it was a far better movie.
