I was grounded for a long time. I don't even remember. It never officially ended. It just kind of went away.
My Dad taught summers at Columbia in Manhattan. My mom and younger brother went with him. I was in HS, and my brother was in college. He was supposed to watch me and the house, but as soon as they left, he went to Colorado with some friends leaving me with money, 2 cars, a pool, and a big house in Palo Alto.
It's hard to describe exactly what happened, but it was kind of a mix between Animal House and Risky Business but without any of the redeeming qualities. I blame other people. I was new to CA and just trying to fit in. Oh yeah, and my parents came home a couple of days early, so they are partly to blame as well, and they never said squat to my brother.
I did much better the next summer, so the grounding must have worked.
