re: Longest you were grounded as a youth and why?

In ninth grade got caught smoking cigs in the bathroom during lunch. When we got the office the secretary informed them that we were skipping school that morning (she saw my buddy and I walking down the road that morning). That afternoon the sheriffs investigator showed up at the house. Apparently a house belonging to the County juvenile officer had been burglarized that morning and because the secretary saw us walking in front of it, we were blamed.

I got the shite beat out of me and was grounded for a month. They caught the real burglar a week later but they kept me grounded for embarrassing them by having the cops show up.

Had a couple more two week groundings resulting from getting tossed from school for smoking or skipping. By 16 they pretty much gave up on me and just prayed I came home alive.

I’ve always heard that you reap what you sow and feel bad about the hell I put my folks through. I have no idea why the Lord chose to bless me with three children who have grown up to be wonderful young adults without a giving us a minutes problem(so far at least.) but I’m eternally grateful that he did.
