To be fair, his first time under 6.39 doesn’t count as a WR because USADA wasn’t on site and they didn’t have electronic starting blocks.
He did drive straight to Atlanta to meetup with an appropriate drug testing agency after that clemson meet, but it was wasted effort due to the blocks and a 0 gun test not being performed. Thankfully Clemson did invest in some electronic blocks after that meet and does use them for races with a decent chance of a record being set. A wise investment since that seems to be the new fastest indoor track and is attracting high level staged college races and pro athletes.
To add to the OP, last year Coleman tied the collegiate record in the 60, set the collegiate record in the 100 and had the fastest time in the world, came within .01 of the indoor 200 collegiate and world record, and his outdoor 200 time in cold, wind, and rain at Kentucky was faster than the time that won the world championships.
A truly incredible year.
