Prior to 2013 this place said same stuff about Beckham and Landry.
I guess the want it now generation doesn't realize most HS WRs are going to have to be molded into the WRs seen at the combine, especially Chark who was considerably less polished than the 2 superstars.
Ehh I don't think people were saying that. People had problems with the hands, but outside of that, Beckham and Landry were above average everywhere else skill wise. I remember when they finally got it together after the bye week in 2012, Jarvis especially. Landry had 23 receptions for 216 yards and 1 TD the first 8 games. In November alone he had 29 receptions for 320 yards and 3 TDs. Beckham had 16 receptions for 286 yards and 2 TDs in the first 5 games. In the four games in November he had 14 receptions for 253 yards. Reason why that is special? His first 5 games were against 7 win Washington, 3 win Auburn, 4 win North Texas, 1 win Idaho, and FCS Towson.
Go watch Mett and the WRs in 2012, compared to Etling and the WRs in 2017, and see the difference in diversity of passing routes.
No, these WRs we have picked up since 2013 are definitely more athlete than WR. One guy teaches you something, the next year another guy, next year another guy, etc, all the while you're going through 3 coordinators, QBs that don't know the meaning of accuracy, and head coaches that would rather run an old school NFL offense with limited routes partly because you can't run different ones, and your QB can't throw them. .

Beckham and Landry didn't come in NFL material in 2011, impressed very few people early, and got better with coaching as you mentioned 22 games into college careers.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
