That just sits directly on top of your grill? How long does it take to heat up? and I imagine there are heat zones all over if its just sitting on the grill a good distance from the burners.

Yes, you just set it directly on the grill. I have a four burner so I put it in the left corner of my grill which leave one grate uncovered. Naturally the left side is a little hotter than the right due to heat loss. I generally leave the lid closed which will get it up to temp in about 5-10 minutes. From there depending on what im cooking and how much heat I need I open or close. I found its the perfect temp for pancakes, omelets. Very hard to burn and cooks them perfectly. This goes for toast etc. I would say my biggest issue is with bacon. It takes a little longer than I would like. I think I need to get a bacon press which should speed it up. Hamburgers cook great as well. I like that it doesn't get searing hot. It would be a lot harder to deal with. Im sure it would depend on the grill etc on how it performs but it works great on my Genesis II. I use the griddle 10x more than the grill.
