A bunch of poorly trained non battled test troops are not going to be effective. Esp when their NCOs and officers have no combat experience as well.
China's military equipment is crap. Even the shite the stole they can't even get to work right. Our AF, Navy and Marine pilots have logged so much more flight time it would be a massacre in the sky.
