Supposedly, a later phase was going to extend the tram to BTR and Southern in the north, LaBerge to the South, and BRCC to the East (this leg would include a stop at the BR/NOLA train station).
The problem is two-fold:
1. Incompetent corrupt officials we can’t trust with our money to design, build, manage, or maintain infrastructure properly
2. Short sighted yokles who see phase 1 of 1 part of a much larger plan and can’t see how the pieces fit together. They can’t see a future need. They can’t see how one piece can get the rest up and running. They can’t see that while their neighborhood isn’t a part of this phase, it could benefit big time in future phases. They delay and want the development before the infrastructure and then b$tch years later about how expensive new infrastructure is.

Yep. Baton Rouge has both of these in abundance.
