What's with player bashing.

Just tried to read TDs evaluation of Slaughter. It made me sick in the stomach. Calling a player trashy is low as you can go. I remember the rules say you can't single out a player. Is the censor czar off duty this weekend. This thread should have been whacked before it started.

You will read some sad and pathetic stuff here. Sadly, for some reason, that stuff is allowed to happen. When you try to bring it up, in a thread like this, your thread will be anchored. I don't understand it, but it is the way the rant works.

Beaseball players are treated different than the other athletes at LSU. Every other sport the coaches get the blame for poor play or poor results but CPM cannot be critisized so when fans are displeased with something in baseball it’s ok to attack the players per The Rant. When we had bad QB play under Miles it was Miles and Cams fault for not developing them not the players fault, when NBA players didn’t make the NCAA tourney under Jones it was on him not the players. But because the Rant has placed CPM above LSU for whatever reason and consider him God his players are allowed to be trashed without consequence.

This certainly isn't true. Not even close. There has been threads about basketball players, and plenty football players.

Not with the same vitriol and not with current players. Yes you’re right about guys like Ben Simmons and D.J. Welter but the ugliness was much more after they left LSU and not while they were here. The Rant almost always takes a more reserved form of judgment on the players while they’re still at LSU except for baseball.

WTF are you talking about? PM gets tons of hate. Etling, JJ, CJJ, O, Ben Simmons, Fargas, DD. The Rant equally terrorizes all sports players and coaches both.

Calling an LSU player trash or garbage used to be forbidden and rightly so. A poster could analyze a player's mistakes or discuss why another player should be playing and that was okay.
But making personal attacks against a kid just because he was not playing well was not accepted.

I think you’re overthinking it. I don’t think they are calling the person himself trash. I assume they’re talking about their play.

So we can't point out how bad Slaughter has been this season? The guy is batting .050. Does that make him a bad guy? No, absolutely not. It does make him a bad baseball player AT THE MOMENT. It's called criticism. It's this thing that adults deal with in life.

A player was called "garbage" in a thread today. Later in the thread he was called "trash" by the same poster. Not "played like garbage" or "played like trash."
It was "(Player's name) is garbage" and "(Player's name) is trash."
I just looked up that thread to post a link to those posts and, thankfully, those posts have been deleted by admins.
A good start. Hopefully that poster also got a friendly PM and maybe even a vacation from posting.
