Nothing wrong with that.. Although it backfired on My MIL. My wife is the baby and since our last child was going to be it, my MIL wanted to be in there to watch he last grandbaby born. Out of her 8 she had never been in the delivery so I was cool with that.

The delivery started out fairly normal then it took a turn for the worst. The baby came not breathing and a crash unit came in ..That was stressful... but she was ok and they were able to stabilize her..

Enough right??

No, after the baby was stable, we noticed my wife wasn't looking right and started turning cold. I started trying to engage her in conversation and she pretty much passed out right in front of me.. I then noticed that blood was starting to pour from the bed and onto the floor...Freak out time.. OB that delivered runs back in rips everything for the wall then wheels her out..

For 2hrs after that I sat in the delivery room with my MIL with a pool of blood right in the middle of the floor... Was the longest 2hrs of my life

Apparently her uterus had torn in 3 places causing her to nearly bleed out... Quite possibly the scariest thing I've ever dealt with.

So yeah my MIL's one and only chance to watch a grandchild be born was one of the most traumatizing experiences ever..

But don't let my horror story deter you... Just let her be there if she wants..
