On the one hand, that seems stupid.
On the other hand, if you ever want a career beyond a trade, you won't get shite without a diploma. That's just the way the world works now, right or wrong.

Very much incorrect sir. There are loads of good non-trade jobs out there being occupied by young people out of trade school.
And almost any trade is a guaranteed good living, especially if you're willing to travel while young and hustle. People dont do trade school because they're fricking lazy and too good to do anything manual.
