I got the IRS scam and it was an Asian accent. I asked him if he knew that I was an agent with the FBI. He hung up! I called the same number 3 days in a row and tried to order Chinese food. The fourth day...the number was disconnected! LOL! I made those SOB's change numbers!!

Most of the big call centers spoof Skype numbers and such in blocks - they try to target the area code with at least other numbers from the area code, if not the prefix, because it drastically increases the chances of a pick up - heck, that used to work with me before I figured out the pattern.

Another one I've seen is a Nigerian work from home scam where they claim to need a payment processor in the United States. Your "job" will be to receive a payment, keep a small cut for yourself, and wire the rest to wherever they tell you to. What people don't realize is that this business model doesn't make any sense and the payment they're receiving is actually funded by a stolen credit card/bank account.
