Shouldn't these maps look more similar?

I realize the second map isn't adjusted for "per capita" occurrences. Even so, I'm not see any correlation between the two.

We have a people problem. Not a gun problem.

Nebraska - Land of Submissive.

Explains why I moved out of that state with quickness.

What surprises me is the low gun ownership in Nebraska!

No need for firearms in Nebraska since you aren't allowed to defend yourself or property. No stand your ground law and you're required to leave/flee your own home during a home invasion.

I could go on... but you get the picture.

No real need. Who hunts prairie dogs?

A homogeneous population of like minded people with a lack of culcha. So not as much need for home defense.

Wrong

OMAHA metro contains roughly half of the state's population.

"With a crime rate of 43 per one thousand residents, Omaha has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities."

"For Omaha, we found that the violent crime rate is one of the highest in the nation, across communities of all sizes (both large and small). Violent offenses tracked included rape, murder and non-negligent manslaughter, armed robbery, and aggravated assault, including assault with a deadly weapon. According to NeighborhoodScout's analysis of FBI reported crime data, your chance of becoming a victim of one of these crimes in Omaha is one in 170."

Look at your own link.

Unless I am not reading it right, Omana had a grand total of 43/44 vioent crimes last year. That is one every 10 days or so and why do I have a sneaky suspicion that many of those "one every ten days" crimes were druggies and the like "taking care of each other (settling disputes)".

Not that it makes it right, it does not. But it is not like marauding bandits are doing home invasions in middle class communities.

Bro, you're talking to someone that lives in Memphis. When Omaha is the inspiration for a TV show like The First 48, get back to me. Omaha is not gangsta. -- in anyway.

But we are also getting off point. This is about the theory that gun availability is responsible for school shootings.

I'm of the opinion we have very complex people problem and not a gun problem.

You're not reading it right. Read the description (tab), which I quoted.

Little less typing on your part and a lot more reading is good advice. Don't be so quick to be the site contrarian (there's enough already).

You got me.

I was wrong.

You are right.

It was out of ever 1000.

Hey, I was wrong. Made a mistake. Good catch and thanks.

That having been said I would be shocked if Omaha is not a safe place to live but, who the heck knows.

Again, me bad, you right, my mistake.

It's apparent you and Eurocat are just talking out your arse. I provided the factual info. Let's just say North Omaha and North Baton Rouge are sister cities.

Have either of you ever spend a month in Omaha? Probably not. Spend a few weeks following this site, you'll get the picture.

I don't want to call the website you used to claim Omaha is gangsta complete bullshite but It claims Monroe LA is the most violent city in the US. and Alexandria LA #8.

But again, we are off track.

Please tell me where I claimed Omaha was "gangsta"? Those are your words... not mine.

You claimed Nebraska didn't have "culcha". You're wrong.
