The city of Augusta itself is pretty dumpy so I can't really give you many recommendations about town. Last year was my first and only Masters experience, I went to the Tuesday practice round, so I'm sure there are others that can give you MUCH better advice than I can. With that said:

-When you first get in, the gift shops will be pandemonium. They only allow chairs with no arms, so if you don't have one I guess just suck it up and go to the gift shop when you get in on thursday.
-If you do have an armless chair, when you first get in on Thursday go immediately to your desired hole location adn plant your chair. It's not like downtown BR so no one will steal your stuff, you can set your chair then mill around and come back later.
-You have the wonderful advantage of going 2 days which I didn't. Since it was my first time, me and my buddy after getting in immediately went ot set our chairs down in the little area where the #12 green and #13 tee box kinda overlap so we could see both. After we set our chairs down we walked the entire course.
-If it's your first time, I would recommend walking the whole thing. For me, I'm not an avid golf follower so the golfers themselves didn't really caputre me, I just wanted to see AN. After we spent a few hours waalking the course we went back to our chairs and watched players on 13.
-Since you have 2 days, I would recommend doing 2 things on alternating days (doesn't matter which order, up to you). One day follow golfers. This may make more sense on Thursday since it's the first day and things are a bit more relaxed. Pick a pairing or a golfer that you personally like and walk the course with them. The other day, post up at a particular hole. There are obviously dozens of "famous" holes at AN so that's up to you. I loved our spot between 12/13, the par 3 16 is great, etc.

Overall though, just take it all in. I've entered the lottery many times and never won, so last year I just said frick it and bought a ticket, which even for a practice round was exorbitant. Almost certainly the only time I'll ever go unless I win the lottery. It is truly breathtaking and unlike any other sporting event in the world. Everything is IMMACULATE. Go to any bathroom and there are probably 3 attendants in there directing you to open stalls and sweeping after guests enter. Food and beer is dirt cheap and the lines move quick. You will not find any trash laying around on the ground. You will not see any grass out of place or unkempt. It really is an elite, tier 1, first rate experience. Enjoy it.

I have entered every year and I am pretty sure that once I said something bad about the masters and my IBM computer reported me.

Thanks, man. Yep, first time, so we'll likely walk the whole thing just to take it all in, then post up somewhere on Friday.

Thanks for the write-up!

How is the ratio of beer tent/porta potties. Is it a hole by hole kinda thing (probably not) or just one or two centralized concession and bathroom areas

I know what you were going for here and since this isn't the OT I won't kill you over this. There is no spectator area by 12 green/13 tee. You meant 11 green and 12 tee. Yes this is a great spot to put your chairs.

For food, go to Frog Hollow Tavern and the get the pork chop. You will thank me later.

I was told this week by one of my employees that he gets 4 badges a year. I was like bro, these are things you should be telling me in your interview

His grandpa was COO of a Fortune 500 company for 20+ years and still on the board.
