Impersonating a US citizen is a material misrepresentation and carries a lifetime ban on legally entering the United States. I don’t remember off hand the penalty for reentering with a lifetime ban, but it’s technically a felony punishable by over 5 years in prison (if the DOJ were to prosecute).
