The democrats tried (and failed miserably) in 2013 after Sandy Hook because the NRA is far more powerful than either major political party.

The bottom line is the democrats will NEVER outmobilize the gun lobby at the polls and it's unlikely you'll ever get enough congressmen/women to oppose it to pass anything substantial. You want to keep your seat, you stay in line.

It's why all this handwringing over gun control by the board is silly. It's effectively an impossibility.

If Obama couldn't get it done in the wake of Sandy Hook when emotions were at an all time high and with a Democratic House and Senate, it will never get done.

As horrible as these instances are, the people really don't want the 2nd infringed

So true.

This will change. These mass shootings are going to increase. They ready have. Wasn’t that long ago when you had Vegas. Every time one happens it errordes support from the anti gun control argument. Eventually that support is gonna swing the other way.
