There is no mass shooting issue. Not every problem is going to have a solution. Especially when it involves a multi faceted system of checks and balances. The kid, the parents, the school, law enforcement, etc. are all at fault in this particular incident but all it really takes is one of those to fail. Too much margin for error to regulate. The “issue” is as old as time - there are shitty people in this world who do shitty things and that’s all there is to it. You can’t stop everything. You can’t solve EVERY problem.

There’s no single switch to flip

There’s no combination of changes that would fully eliminate it

But if you slightly turn a few knobs I do think you can effect the outcomes some

I get what you’re saying but the picture I’m also try to paint is, how much of an issue is it really? Not trying to be insensitive but how many mass shootings are there really per capita compared to historical data? Is anyone taking in to consideration our sizable population growth year after year? Same with almost all crime statistics. Our world is safer now than it’s ever been and it will continue that trend.

In most of "mass" school shootings, the perp arrives on campus after school has started and just walks in and starts shooting.

I say step 1 should be locking the damn doors.

28 years ago I worked in a mail room that was always locked and you had to be buzzed in.
