My wife worked as many hours as her job allowed before we got married, often working the crappiest shifts. She was still eligible for food stamps.

And she'd still be eligible for a food box.

At least with the box, the people trying to defraud the system will still have good, healthy food to feed their kids. That's not the case when they sell it or misuse it.

I could give a shite about their dignity. I'm more concerned about people being hungry.

Nothing about my stance or my post is about defending food stamps over the food box initiative. I'm okay with the food boxes, and outlined in an earlier post that before I say it's a good idea or bad idea depends on the end result and level of government growth required to implement it.

My point is that when you just immediately point to a person on food stamps and scream "parasite", you're missing some facts. You don't know them.

If you say, "I want to change the system because it is poorly designed and easily corruptible" then I agree.

If you say, "All people on food stamps are leeches" or "All people on food stamps are scum" then you demonstrate a lack of understanding that means you should probably remove yourself from the discussion.
