My question to you is this, what in the hell is spoiled about wanting to compete for championships?

Nothing. Everyone on this board wants LSU to be competing for championships. The desire to be the best football program in the country is a similarity on both sides, not a difference.

What would you have us do, accept 8-4 seasons? Isn't that why we fired the last guy?

No, no one will accept 8-4 seasons. It is why CLM got fired. Again, this is a similarity between both sides, not a difference.

quote:

By being OK with O going 8-4 you setting the program up for the big fall which could take a decade to rebuild. THAT is the problem with O as a head coach. He's under qualified and could do extreme damage to a program that, 4 years ago, was in the national title conversation EVERY frickING YEAR!

No one is OK with going 8-4, so your point here is moot. Also, you have no clue how good Coach O can be because he's only been the coach for 1 year. You can't judge how good someone will be at their job with one year of experience in any profession. Saban after 1 year at LSU was mediocre. Saban at Bama after 1 year was worse than mediocre. Point being, get a legitimate sample before forming an all encompassing opinion. This is the difference between the two groups on TD.

quote:

Now, do I believe O is accepting mediocrity? Of course not. I actually think the man is giving it his best. Unfortunately, his best is not good enough. All of the sudden LSU is surrounded by some of the best coaches in all of college football.

We agree on the first part. O wants to get this program to the top and will work his arse off to get there if possible. Whether his best is good enough is to be seen. I am not ready to say he can't do it after a 9-win season. I don't believe there is enough evidence to say either way. Lastly, LSU has always been in a conference with good coaches, this isn't new and it doesn't change anything.

quote:

Do you really want to O matching wits with the best coaches in football? I sure as hell don't. But you go ahead and accept mediocrity and see where the program ends up in the next fews years.

Your emo is showing here. If you don't want to support the team because the guy you wanted as head coach isn't in the position then go be a fan of another team, but don't come back if LSU succeeds under this coaching staff. We don't need anymore fair-weather fans, TD has shown there are enough of them here already.

Les didn’t go 8-4 in 2015. He went 9-3 without a gimme win vs McNeese.

He was a HC before. That is relevant.

Also Saban took a 4-8 LSU team and went 8-4. His first season was pretty fricking good.

The point is that we’re not fair weather fans.

I am Going to be all LSUntillmindie, so it would be nice if we were good, and didn’t waste time trying to resurrect Os stillborn HC career.
