Ive been to Hop City in Bham many times, but that will be a little out of my way on this schedule-heavy work trip to Hoover/Pelham. Anything in Hoover?
Also, need refreshing on what to get. I ve loved Orpheus stuff I've gotten in the past. Trim Tab doing anything good? What else should I search out?

Trim Tab has been killing it with their small batch stuff. I'm not sure what you mind be able to find outside the brewery though
You might be able to find some of their new imperial stout Language of Thunder. If you can find any of their 005 or 006 NEIPA that's fresh definitely grab that. Basically anything in their gallery series you should pick up if you find any

The Beer Hog is in Pelham a couple miles from Galleria

Trim Tab sells growlers at the brewery as well.

Last time l was in the area l stopped at a Piggly Wiggly near Shades Crest. Believe it or not they had a great selection and cheap prices, and had Snakehandler on tap.

Ditto Beer Hog suggestion, though their bottle and can selection is very hit or miss. Seems they focus more on bar and growler fills, which makes since because they have higher margins. But they'll have all the local stuff other than the Trim Tab Gallery series someone else mentioned. Those are brewery only releases, and the NE IPAs are worth the drive if they still have some.
Good People Snake Handler is out in cans and you might be able to still find a 4-packbsomewhere. Target in Hoover on 150 still had some late last week. It's a fantastic DIPA. I think it's better than Hopslam.

That Piggly Wiggly is awesome. My Dad lives in the area, and last time I was in there they gave me free Sweetwater beer and swag.

Yeah, the gallery series is awesome. Love the 002, 005, and 006. Very reasonably priced at the brewery as well.

I bought some at the Western on Rocky Ridge last week. They have a wide selection of local stuff as well. Cahaba, Ghost Train, Trim Tab, Good People, Avondale, etc.

The IPA and Double IPA...the brewery is not really my scene after dark but they do have some good small batch stuff that is worth going and checking out.

No kidding. The past like 6-7 releases have all been incredible.

And regarding Trim Tab, they are using another brwer(I think Abita) to brew and package some of their beer. I've been told that the six-packs with the cardboard packaging were brewed at that brewery and are not as good. I can't verify this as their only mass produced beer I like is their Berliner Weiss, and I only drink it in the summer.
