Where are the recruiting gurus ... Cadello, Supersaint9, and that Star Wars queer from College Station (LSUsetheforce) or something like that? They promised that Surtain would choose LSU over Bama, and said that I was a Bama fan for saying the Bama was the better option currently. Obviously the recruits think so too, as they have killed us on the recruiting trail for 9 years now. Take the damn blinders off and realize that Bama has great coaches and offers everything that LSU can, plus they offer an actual chance at a championship. LSU needed a decent Head Coach and a solid offensive coordinator hire to compete with Alabama. Instead, they hired the worst head coach possible and then continued the internal promotion trend with the hiring of a previously failed OC. The result is embarrassing losses and constant mediocrity. Disagree all you want, but all people that don't have extreme bias can see the direction of the program is not a good thing.

- Missing on a major need, in Surtain
- Embarrassing loss to Troy
- Average at best season, with an average bowl loss
- Weak recruiting class overall
- Hiring an offensive coaching staff that is filled with past failures/ rejects

And you guys keep saying that each event has yielded overreaction. At what point will the ill feelings be justified to you? How far down must LSU fall, before you hit the "negativity" switch? It is pretty obvious that the recruits, juniors, and current players can sense the impending disaster. I admire people that remain positive when there is some strand to hold on to, but please share the positive that most are missing. I posted this question earlier in a minimally visited thread, but I really am looking forward to a comical and entertaining spin regarding the positive outlook of the O lovers. I want something to feel good about today.

Some LSU fans will support the head coach no matter how bad he is. They call it being a true LSU fan. I call it accepting mediocrity, but whatever.

I really don't see how anyone could spin the shite show that we have witnessed since January 1st, as "Positive". Every decision made has been unimpressive and the result is poor recruiting. It is really going to get ugly next year when several of the Louisiana guys do not want to be part of this dysfunctional machine. I just hope Orgeron fricks up along the way and he can be fired before November, so maybe a decent hire could be made before signing day. But with Alleva at the top, I'm sure there would be an uninspiring hire, like promoting Ensminger or something.

LSU's defense will be fine; missing one recruit will not make or break the program. We landed Joseph, and along with Greedy, DBU will remain strong. Next man up.

Joseph has little to do with missing on Surtain, as they play different positions. Look at the depth chart and tell me what you think about 2019, when Greedy bails early from the sinking ship. Defense will be fine next year because of Aranda, but the recruits are fearful of what Orgeron is doing to the program. The offensive hires will effect defensive recruits too, because it directly effects their chance of a championship.

I get PM'd about being negative and calling out site admins for enabling sunshine pumpers, but blatant homophobia is cool.

Bro, we have 2 cbs coming back with actual pt. that's not good enough with the offenses we will come up against.

You forget that, smith and lewis transferred. jackson and toliver left for the draft. And you have fulton that was suspended an entire season. That doesnt make me feel all good inside about the cb position.

Solid thread.. I agree with most of what you said but here’s my take FWIW - I’m just sick of the negativity.. not once will you hear me say that it is unwarranted or unjustified. I see the downward trend that the program is on and I too, am concerned. However, I just choose not to be too negative. Inside, I probably actually agree with everyone who is pissed off and hates O, but my personality and my mindset doesn’t allow me to be so dramatically negative about it

In the end, I think that all the bitching and complaining doesn’t matter that much.. except maybe for the people during football season who turn on their TVs ready to watch LSU, ALREADY pissed off and wanting them to lose just so they can (a) be right on the internet, and (b) hopefully see some change in the leadership at LSU

I’ll watch and be a diehard regardless of the war that’s fought daily on TD

I never promised anything. PS2 had everyone fooled, even the recruiting insiders. To blame me for him not choosing LSU is just beyond retarded.
I've never claimed to be a recruiting guru, I know as much as any other poster here.

I guess I can post doom and gloom everyday and when something doesn't work out be here to say "I told you so"
You are a shitty fan and poster.
If you think I'm happy about what's going on here, you must be a complete fricking moron.
If you need someone to take your frustration out on, start with the head coach and end with Alleva.

I agree with you. I still want the team to win no matter what. I don't really care about proving these dumb asses wrong, but it is kind of entertaining to see the pathetic responses/ excuses. I don't have the 20,000 post counts like some of these people, but I was ridiculed by these clowns for saying that Surtain was interested in Bama last week. I was called a Bama fan and all I did was say that you really couldn't blame the guy because of what they had to offer. The gap between the programs is very wide and it is widening daily with Orgeron at the helm. I hope something changes soon, because football has been so much fun since 2001 and I don't want it to end.

Recruiting guru? Lmao

I know as much about recruiting as our supreme closer head coach which is NOTHING! I’m not having conversations with the Surtains’. I’m not in constant contact with them. It’s not my job to gage the sincerity of the Surtains’.
I agree with most everything else you said in your post. We did make a horrible lazy hire at head coach and the same laziness has continued with the OC hire.
All we can do as fans is read the tea leaves by all the so called recruiting experts that are paid to do this and form our own opinions .
I would recommend that you take EVERYTHING that is said around this place with a grain of salt . Don’t take everything that read on TD as gospel. There are no “insiders” on here. People that make that claim are taking things that they have read from pay sites and passing it off as their own.

It's ok. The only inside info I've ever had was Rueben Randle and he signed.
