Great idea and looks very good. Did you brown the dressing mix prior to putting in the oven or simply put the skillet directly into the oven after adding the dressing and butter?

ETA: the leftover sausage could’ve also been used in a breakfast casserole.

I'm going to try this soon!

Have you ever tried Tennessee Pride Sage breakfast sausage We really enjoy it, and it seems a natural for this dish.

Tennessee Pride would be good, if cooked in chunks. I was thinking Connecuh links, cut into chunks and used. I think it needs the heat.

No, once n the dressing it was fine. The dressing calmed everything down. I think this recipe could handle some pretty hot sausage. And a lot more sausage than I used, too.
