Trump can fire whomever He wants, and state the reason why. Obstruction - in this scenario - would be a SUBJECTIVE judgment. Impeachment would be a political act, not criminal. Given what we now know...no way Impeachment flies.
Trump don't have to fire Meuller. All Trump has to do is accuse Meuller of a "witch hunt"...and wait patiently for the OIG Report (which will confirm that accusation) to drip out.
Trump is holding the aces. Meuller...hand full of Spades.
Meuller may just recuse Himself, and try to save His own skin.
