It will either be a younger Biden-like working class politician, or an outsider.
I could see Bernie and Biden both not running, but each having their own horse, so to speak.

Martin O'Malley or Julian Castro
Castro checks all the liberal boxes (save female obviously), is young and an excellent public speaker. I'm sure they'd try to sell the party on the potential of flipping Texas. He's also devoutly catholic, supports free trade and fossil fuels so he would be far less offensive to the average Republican.
Long story short, he'd mobilize democrats (especially Hispanics) and wouldn't be someone republicans would fall over each other to vote against.
