Or, and this is the more likely scenario given the media's track-record on accuracy in reporting on Trump, it could be that this new "source" is wrong.

I think this talking point is misguided.

There's no evidence that the media (which is a broad paint brush) has been any more inaccurate on Trump/Russia than any other major stories.

Remember how Woodward and Bernstein made big errors on Watergate reporting? People make errors, reporters are people.

You don't pass your speculations off as 100% verified. That's not an error that's just lazy, sloppy reporting. You also don't air something like the Steele dossier until you've thoroughly vetted the source as well as gotten corroborating evidence.

Remember how Comey was going to testify that Trump pressured him?

Remember the oh-so-explosive Comey memo?

Remember how Deutsche Bank was supposed to have flagged Kushner's account due to "suspicious activity"?

Remember the koi pond incident?

Remember how Trump's account records with Deutsche Bank were supposed to have been subpoenaed?

Remember how this dossier was heavily funded by the DNC and HRC's campaign but how this was not reported nearly as often as the unproven allegations in the dossier?

Remember how HRC's campaign claimed no knowledge of the dossier at first then it was found they funded a large part of it and how this was not reported nearly as much nor as often as the unproven allegations in the dossier?

Remember how HRC's campaign lied on their campaign finance reports by never reporting these expenditures but that was not reported nearly as often as the allegations in the dossier?

Remember how the only things that have ever been corroborated in the dossier are that Carter Page met with Russian bankers (not a crime) and that Putin does not like Hillary but how that has yet to be reported even nearly as closely as the unproven allegations?

That many "errors" aren't "mistakes", they're a pattern of behavior.
