I agree. Tripletail is one of my favorite fish. Right up there with Cobia, Pompano, Speckled trout, Snapper and Sheapshead. I do miss lake fish in the North too. Perch, Crappies, Walleyes, Sunfish, Bass...yum. Smelting off the Lake Michigan piers was fun in the wee hours of the morning. I love those things beer battered.

My least favorites are gonna be swordfish, amberjack and wahoo.

Those are definitely the ones I give away

Sheepshead is great but a pain to clean. I always get it when on special at Ruffinos

Hard to beat some good fried smelts. Waka House in BR used to sell them but I don’t think they do anymore. Not sure of anyone who does.

I can do amberjack up real good but has to be cleaned well kept iced and not old. Wahoo is real firm and dry. I would agree not my favorite. Fresh swordfish is outstanding. We cook people’s catch and from time to time we get some swordfish brought in. I get some fresh pompano occasionally. Grill it whole skin on seasoned. A great dish.
People here call Cobia, Ling. Great fish. See some in the summer months. Sheepshead is a wonderful fried fish.
