Hate to say but every time someone tried to sell me triple tail in the restaurant it wasn’t triple tail. They might call it that but that’s not what it is. I have seen Swai and other asian fish sold as many other things.

When you see fresh grouper on a menu and it’s not 30 bucks you aren’t getting fresh grouper. And triple tail is harder to find than grouper at least here in Texas. I never heard anyone say man we just killed the triple tail today. I hear of someone catching them occasionally.

Fresh real triple tail is awesome though.

Have you ever been to yardarm in Corpus? They claimed to have it one night when I went but I was hesitant because of my fish allergies.
