Tech board gurus,
I have just remodelled a small room to become my movie cave. This is in a 111 year old house.
Anyway, I put power to the upper 4 corners of the room for bluetooth surround sound satellite speakers.
Well.....what should I buy.
The area is 10x12 feet. Would a $300-500 system work?
I am prepared to buy Samsung Atmos hw-k950 for $1200. But I have been reading that Atmos doesn't link through ARC so the 'surround sound' experience is limited more often than not. Has this been fixed?
Bose?
Sonos?
Now we are talking $1700 for sound bar, sub and 2 satellites.
My limitation is that I put power, not speaker wires, in the corners.
Any advice is appreciated.
I would like to stay in the $1000 range.
Key is that the system just plugs in and works (I am no techie).
Advice?

I will add that I would be happy to spend less if I can get quality surround sound.

Can you not just run speaker wire to the corners in the attic space?

I had a chance to run wires but was talked out of it because of 'bluetooth'

I’m a sonos fan boy thru and thru but if I were you I would go with a traditional receiver and wired speaker setup. Maybe you can put the rears on speaker stands and run the wire under the carpet?

Should kick whoever told you that in the nuts. I'd always put speaker wire in even if you never use it. It's cheap enough, even for me.

Yeah, I say skip Sonos/Bose. Do a traditional receiver 5.2.
You can get a 4k Denon 5.2 with Bluetooth and 4 ARC 2.2 port for around $250
$450 for 7.2 DTX
$600 Amazon Alexa capable.
For speakers I’ll say ELAC B5’s with the matching sub & center channel.

Update,
I went with the Samsung Atmos. I will send an update once I have everything set up.

I have the Bose Soundtouch 300 with the Acoustimass bass, and I just added the Virtually Invisible Surround 300 speakers...Let me tell you, my apartment sounds like a movie theatre. I'm surprised I haven't gotten a noise complaint yet. All this is used with a 55" Samsung Q7C.

You ran power... but not speaker wire?

Not to mention if your system isn't calibrated for it, it will probably have a lag between video and audio.
