Throwing NYCFC a bone to get him off their books. They'll loan him to some Scandinavian club for 4 years.

shite like this is exactly why MLS should have never got in bed with CFG
They already made MLS look stupid with the Lampard contract

City Football Group.....
MLS took the money and pretty much let them operate on their own set of rules.

If anything, I think it's good that they are partnered with a bigger club so that they can get bailed out when this exact scenario happens. With the strict financial caps, I think things like this only helps the league.

And you don’t see how that wouldn’t piss off other owners like what happened with Lampard

The whole Lampard situation was completely wrong and violated the CBA

Ok? I just said it was a bad move. The collaboration is still an overall positive, and something some teams should probably look into.

The MCFC-NYCFC partnership would've worked if City would've used NYC to develop up-and-coming guys with the young DP rule. Not to trumpet Atlanta too much, but imagine if they would've put their resources toward getting guys like Almiron and Barco and Martinez.
Instead, they threw money at Lamps and Pirlo and Villa and Mix. They could've gotten away with just one star in Villa and surrounded them with fun young players.

It appears that they are moving that way.

Probably not nearly as much as how much MLS has changed the rules to accommodate the Galaxy over the years...

Maybe. Medina is a step in the right direction.

They also only have 1 of these 4 players remaining on the roster.

No it’s not
MLS took their expansion fee and is like frick it
Bc the league needed the money, so it whored itself out

There's a lot of teams that still need money and are reluctant to spend their own. They would do good to partner with a European team.

Stop it
That’s not how the single entity even works
NYCFC was just something City used to up their value of CFG
No plans for a ground and just bring in old players

Man City wouldn't have bought Mix if it was like what you're saying.
