Our Non-Conference schedule was pretty good this year. I think our whole program has started stepping up since CWW has arrived on campus.

The biggest issue with the non conference this year was we played too many terrible (Group of 4) teams. We had some really good teams on the slate, but we offset it with too many terrible teams. I'd like to see us only play only 3 maybe 4 Group of 4 teams next year and more mid-tier teams. We played 6 this year which killed our OOC SOS overall.

Other than the Maui Tournament and the game vs. Houston, it really wasn't.

Current SOS rankings for LSU's non-conf. schedule

KenPom: 272
RPI: 157
BPI: 159

Next year LSU will play in the tournament at Disney. There is one potential great opponent, Villanova, and a lot of meh along with them: Charleston, Florida State, Memphis, Oklahoma State, UAB and one more team to be announced later. However, I fully expect Wade to beef up the non-conf. schedule. If LSU can finish in the top 10 of the SEC this year they will get to play a Big 12 opponent next season (likely one that is pretty good -- think a Texas, Baylor, TCU or something on those lines). Also, if LSU can generate some national pub you might see them in one of these non-conf. made for TV games. For instance, I wouldn't be shocked to see LSU play in the "CBS Sports Classic" if they do that again next year. This past season it was two games at the Smoothie King Center in Nola -- N. Carolina v. Ohio St. and UCLA v. Kentucky.

Maybe it's just me, but LSU v. Kansas or LSU v. Duke down in Nola right before Christmas has a nice ring to it
