Thinking of planting these as a privacy screen. I keep going back and forth between the two. It seems Leyland Cypress is quite hardy to our area's summer heat but doesn't grow as fast nor as thick as the Green Giant does. Green Giant grows thicker and faster, but a little more susceptible to disease.

Anyone have experience with these two and can give their personal opinions?

If you don’t care about aesthetics , Just go with Bamboo. Extremely cheap. Grows roughly six foot a year up to 35’ tall. Plant roughly 5’ apart.

Bambusa Silverstripe is excellent for privacy fence.

Cypresses dont make a great privacy screen. They are slow to grow, dont fill in at the top for years. Not to mention you got a row full of knees to navigate.

I would look at some kind of evergreen.
