Anyone know where in Baton Rouge I can get the concentrated peroxide needed to bleach my skull mount? Found it on Amazon, but I’d like to do it today.

Sally's beauty supply has it if I'm not mistaken.

I did my euro this weekend out on the burner. Used dish soap first, followed by a mix of bleach and water, and finally followed up with oxyclean and water. Turned out very nice and bright. I am going to use cosmetic bleach and let it dry for the final touches.

It took a while, but really was pretty easy. Getting the brain out was the toughest part.

Cover the antlers well with something. I used aluminum foil. You don’t want to bleach the rack by mistake. It’s a 40% bleach gel used for coloring hair. Let it sit in the bright sun for a bit and you won’t believe how white it comes out.

Wear rubber gloves and eye protection. H2O2 can be nasty stuff if you're not careful

A lot of beauty shops carry the “lotion” peroxide in up to 50%.
Just take a .25 brush and paint it on. Wash off in 24 hrs.

I went into Sallys to get a bottle of the strong concentrate last year and the cashier asked me why I was buying it, I told her I was bleaching a deer skull, then she offers " I don't believe in killing animals" I said ok, you're vegan, She says "No I eat fish"

I have started just spray painting mine with a flat white. Cover base of horns and teeth and just give it a light coat. Comes out great, it’s quicker and less messy. Bleaching can weaken and flake the bone if you over do it.

Go check out whitebone reflections on you tube, guy has best technique. I do not pressure wash but he lightly boils in oxyclean until all connective tissue, brains, etc are out. Final step is 40% bleaching fluid from beauty salon supply. Wrap antler bases with shrink wrap.
