Here is a pic I took from my phone at Ecola State Park, the weekend of January 6th, last month. That's Cannon Beach in the distance.

Here's two from Cape Lookout a few weeks back. The Gorge is also full of phenomenal hiking spots but a lot of the Oregon side trails are closed due to some terrible wild fires from last summer. Cape Horn is on the Washington side and is an easy hike with great views.

As far as Portland, it's a really easy city to navigate. Four spots: NE, SE, SW, NW.

NW is for all of your brewery needs. I prefer heading deeper in to the NW where it's more neighborhood like. 21st and 23rd in the NW are full of some good spots.

NE is my favorite part of the city. Alberta is full of great restaurants and bars. Bollywood Theater has awesome Indian street food and is in the middle of great bars. Mississippi is my neck of the woods and is a small yet fun street full of awesome bars. Bar Bar is the spot on Mississippi, great outdoor space as well. Winters are mild here so most bars have outdoor space heaters if you want to hang outside but you'll find lots of cigarette smokers there.

SE is probably what you picture Portland to be. Belmont is my favorite part of the SE.
