CuseTiger -

FYI - Sounds like you'll be up this way next weekend (2/17)? If you go to Astoria, the Festival of Dark Arts will be going on at Fort George Brewery. You won't get into Fort George without a ticket. You may be able to scrounge up tickets, and they are definitely worth it, if you can get them - IF you like stouts.

Over 60 stouts, and there are some of the best in the business. If you don't have tickets, don't waste your time going to Astoria. If you can get tickets, make sure you have a designated driver, and/or a room in Astoria/Gearhart/Seaside. You WILL get hammered...

Here is the FoDA tap list:
Tap List

The entertainment is cool, as well. Lots of bands, fire breathers, tatoo artists, Voodoo, etc. The Dark Arts. This is one of the coolest beer festivals in the country.

Aside from Great Notion, if you're in Portland for a day, Modern Times* just opened, and they have some great beers. Within a few blocks of Modern Times, you have Cascade Brewing*, Loyal Legion Taproom*, Rogue's experimental brewery, Wayfinder Brewing, Burnside Brewing, Base Camp Brewing, Culmination Brewing*, and Ex Novo Brewing*.

Just across the river, you'll find Deschutes*, 10 Barrel*, and Breakside Slabtown*. All are easy Uber rides.

* personal favorite.
