re: Meanwhile: Turkey has invaded Syria

I made a post about this a couple of days ago. And this is the second time the Turks have invaded Syria, the first being Operation Euphrates Shield. This particular invasion comes with Russian and Syrian acquiescence, as the Russians moved their observers out of Afrin in anticipation of the attack. Given that the Kurdish question is a primary security concern to the Turks, the fact of this operation isn't surprising.

I wonder if Tillerson's comments on establishing a border force made up of SDF forces sped up the timeline of the intervention, as Turkey has no interest in such a situation, given that the SDF is made up of many fighters from the YPG.
